1.Supported H Res. 485 - Supporting the goals of Red Ribbon Week, providing anti-drug education in the nation’s schools. It was agreed to by voice vote. Congressman Weldon also wrote an op-ed about why Red Ribbon week should be supported, which ran in the Delco Times.
2.Voted for R 609 – College Access and Opportunity Act.
3.Voted for the H.R. 2123 School Readiness Act, the legislation to reform and strengthen federal childhood education program, Head Start.

4.He voted with the Republican Majority on the Boustany Amendment to HR 2123 School Readiness Act. The critics of the amendment argued that it would permit organizations that run Head Start programs to discriminate against job applicants solely on the basis of their religion. Reps Boustany and Boehner argued this kind of publicly funded action is consistent with Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
5.He voted for the Davis amendment to H.R. 2123, to direct the Secretary to implement an outreach program to train and recruit African-American and Latino-American men to become Head Start teachers in order to increase the provision of quality services and instructions to children with diverse backgrounds.
6.He voted for the Sterns amendment to H.R. 2123, that requires that Head Start employees be offered courses which include training to support families with children with disabilities.
7.On Monday, November 21, 2005, Congressman Curt Weldon presented Widener University School of Psychology with $992,000 given to it by the Department of Education appropriations.

16.Bipartisan agreement was achieved to provide educational relief to students and schools impacted by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The agreement was included in a hurricane relief package approved as part of H.R. 2863, the FY 2006 Department of Defense appropriations bill. The legislation provides significant flexibility for early childhood, K-12, and higher education students and schools affected by the hurricanes.
